Our Vision:
Help support Texoma's underprivileged with professional mental health counseling.

Our counseling goal is to help our clients address, then move toward resolution of their issues affecting mind, body, spirit and emotions. We are comfortable in facilitating spiritually-focused or Christian counseling, as well as cognitive, behavioral, and brief therapy.

Our vision: Serving God and community. Our mission: To promote independence, recovery, self-advocacy and enhanced quality of life.
We foster a supportive environment where everyone can thrive and find hope.

As a child, Johnny Doe had suffered physical and emotional abuse from his step-father. He came to us as an angry teenager and his single mother was at her wit’s end. Johnny’s counselor helped him spew his anger and hurt about his childhood, then taught him how to use those feelings productively, in sports and in theater, as he began to learn to forgive instead of fight. Today, Johnny is doing better in school, attending church with his mom and siblings and making healthy, safer choices and friends.
Jane Doe couldn’t seem to keep a job for any length of time. Her employer sent her for three Employee Assistance sessions. Jane and her counselor agreed that a doctor visit for possible medication might help, and it did. However, Jane’s insurance did not cover additional mental health counseling to augment the medication. Faith-Works was able to provide Jane with many free, then many very-low-cost counseling sessions as she got back on her feet financially. Jane called us a few months ago: she has now had her job for two years, and reports a calm, happy and stable life.
John and his family are not covered for mental health counseling and yet they have decided they have to reach out for help. Through a phone call to 2-1-1 that offers referrals to those in need, John’s wife learned of Faith-Works and contacted us as we are uniquely positioned to offer very low-cost and even free counseling for entire families in this area.
Through counseling at Faith-Works, this husband, his wife and their children have learned how to effectively overcome the destructive aspects of PTSD. This man is now a productive member of his church, neighborhood and workplace. The children’s grades in school have improved and the eldest son has joined sports to work out his frustrated energies in a productive manner. Although this family remains in counseling, the positive changes that have occurred would not have been possible had Faith-Works not been in the position to provide the assistance they so desperately needed.

In 2024, Faith-Works provided 247 low-cost or no-cost sessions to at-risk youth, adults and families. From January 1st to March 21st of 2025, Faith-Works has already provided assistance for 54 sessions. Faith-Works gives back to our community and helps anyone who calls upon us, as God calls us to assist those in need.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful humanity, regeneration by the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they who are saved unto the resurrection of life and they who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Some have asked if Faith-Works for Humanity follows a specific doctrinal perspective. In keeping with the interdenominational nature of our organization, we make a deliberate effort to avoid emphasizing any particular theological interpretation. Our mandate is to concentrate on the basic tenets of the faith that C.S. Lewis would call “mere Christianity.” We strive to be an organization that welcomes every race and every nation.
We desire to be a relevant ministry in today’s society—a ministry for “real” people. We pray to see His kingdom and purpose established in hearts and in our cities. The harvest is much too big to reap by the traditional means that have been passed down and accepted as unchangeable law. We endeavor to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s direction. May we never become self-satisfied and think we can do anything without Him.
